Head opening and hood are on the small side of optimum.
I have had two of these ponchos for a few months now, a coyote one and an olive drab one. The material and workman ship are good. I like the rubberized material. It is strong and waterproof. The side snaps seem to be of quality. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because on both ponchos, the head opening is nearly too small to get the poncho on or off easily. The hood is so small that the head opening has to be lifted up to my nose so the hood can be pulled down or lifted back over my head.

I just got it today, it started snowing about 4 hours prior. I bought a "mil-spec" poncho (the non-rubberized kind) from another site, it was $10 more than this one. I was soaked after wearing it for 20 minutes...I wore this one for about 45 minutes. I was happy as a clam. For one, the hood fit nicely so you can wear a hat under it if you wanted. It was roomy and the button snaps didn't pull apart when you stretched your arms out. Nice and dry, I love the rubberized version! Plus this one has much better options for the hood and ties.If I ever need to get a replacement, I'll be right back here!

Great to have for emergencies
These heavy duty Ponchos are great they remind me of the old ponchos we had in the military back in the 80s. They are heavy enough to use as ground cloth, tent and can also be used as emergency litter/stretcher and don't soak through like the new lightwieght rip stop nylon ones that are useless because they absorb water
