Over 60 years old and still built tougher than most shovels made today.
This vintage Austrian military folding shovel is a genuine piece of heavy-duty European military surplus designed for decades of dependable field use. Built with a heavy-gauge steel spade, solid hardwood handle and rugged locking mechanism, these entrenching tools are a great example of old-school military construction.
The 3-position adjustable design allows the steel head to be configured for different jobs. Use it as a traditional shovel/spade, reposition the head for digging and trenching, or lock it at an angle for pick/hoe-style scraping and clearing. The locking mechanism holds the heavy steel head firmly in position during use.
The steel shovel head is securely attached to the hardwood handle, and the tool is finished in classic Olive Drab military green.
BUILT FOR REAL WORK
Keep one in your truck, Jeep, SUV or off-road vehicle for digging out of sand, mud or snow. It's equally at home around a campsite, hunting camp, backyard or emergency-preparedness kit.
What really stands out is the quality. These Austrian military shovels are more than 60 years old and remain fully functional—a testament to just how heavily they were built.
When it's time to pack up, the shovel folds down to approximately 21 inches long for easier transport and storage.
Each shovel also includes its original Olive Drab vinyl military cover, complete with belt/pack attachment points and a distinctive snap-flap closure for securing the tool during transport.
